16. Stir Of Echoes (1999)

Stir Of EchoesThis movie has one of the best visuals for beginnings of mediations, trance work or a path working, that beautiful old theatre does the trick for me every time.  A stir of echoes is really a murder mystery.  Telling the story of Tom who is just your regular utility worker, who doesn’t believe in any spiritual Mumbo Jumbo, until his sister in-law who is studying Hypnotherapy places him under. During this time she tells him to keep his mind open and that’s when the images start to flow, all sort of pictures!

Great movie, somewhat unnerving, does show the gifts as they are though 8/10

17. The Devils  Advocate (1997)

Starring Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino, the devil’s advocate tells the story of a young The Devils Advocateimpressive lawyer called, Kevin Lomax, a lawyer from Florida who has never lost a case.  He is recruited by a major New York city Law firm which he moves too despite his wife and mothers objections.  Once in New York, he begins to become wound up in the affairs of his boss and his career, leaving his wife to fend for herself with dire consequences.

A great film, Keanu and Al do such a good job acting together and you have to love John’s (Al Pacino’s Character’s) Final Speech. 8/10

18. Death Becomes Her (1992)

Death Becomes HerThis is one of our favourite movies, it so good for a laugh, the moment we put it on we are always giggling already.  With an all star cast, Death becomes her is the tale of Madeline and Helen, two “best friends” who actually hate each other and constantly are trying to steal each other’s men.  Finally after been apart for over 14 years, Helen asks Madeline to attend her new book launch.  When Madeline arrives she discovers that Helen is not the women that she once knew, and something seems very suspicious.

We love the Sorcereress and we need her house!  How’s the swimming pool? 9/10

19. Angel Heart (1987)

We only saw this movie for the first time the other day, and it was really good, we are sure Angel Heartthough that if it was released today they would have cut the final twenty minutes out.  Angel Heart is the story of a private investigator Harry Angel who is hired by a mysterious man called Louis Cyphere.  All Harry has to do is find some one…if only it was that easy.

This movie really had us intrigued, we were wondering for a while where the occult connection comes in, but it does and STRONG!  If it was 20 minutes shorter we would have given it an eight out of ten.  7/10

20.  Pans Labyrinth (2006)

If you think that you are about to watch a children’s tale of fairies and magickal Pan's Labyrinthenchanted lands, think again, Pan’s Labyrinth is certainly not Disneyified which results in one of the most brutal fairy tales around.  However we are sure that they are closer to the actual tales told through old Europe.  Set in the time of the Spanish civil war, Ophelia a young girl and her mother are sent to live with the Mothers new Husband, a Captain in the Spanish Army.  The story interchanges from the brutal life that Ophelia, her mother and others suffer and the magickal world contacting Ophelia.

A brilliant movie, only in Spanish, so you will be reading subtitles. 9/10

Cheers
